The Mission at TheOxfordPhD
In the age of AI, we want to bring you more nuanced and personalised admissions support. Your experiences, ambitions and strengths are all unique, and your application should reflect that! That is why we take the time to get to know each student's unique experiences, rather than offering generic advice or what AI algorithms think admissions committees want to hear!
Another key part of our approach is based on the proverb,
"Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish,
and you feed him for a lifetime."

Another key part of my approach is based on,

Students have told me that through working with me on their applications, they've developed skills they can carry throughout their academic careers, such as thinking more critically, communicating complex concepts clearly, writing more effectively, and becoming more confident in their work and abilities.
My services incorporate research training and skills-building. I go beyond just one application, but rather use this application process as a tool to help you develop and discover yourself as a scientist, thinker, and writer, gain confidence in articulating and defending your ideas, and become more ready for a successful career in academia or elsewhere!

Someone who understands the journey.
OXFORD PHD · CLARENDON SCHOLAR · FOUNDER
Hi! I’m Dr Hira Javaid, scientist, admissions consultant, and founder of TheOxfordPhD. I did my DPhil in Oncology at Oxford as a Clarendon Scholar (Oxford's most competitive scholarship). Before that, I was awarded the MSc Cancer Scholarship at UCL (only awarded to one student every year), and prior to that, the Queen Mary University Academic Excellence Scholarship. Having been an international student coming to the UK, I understand the challenges and want to support and mentor you on your journey. Through TheOxfordPhD YouTube Channel and my 1:1 services, I've worked with countless students over the years and helped them discover their strengths, showcase them to admissions committees, and become more confident applicants and researchers. I'd love to work with you next!
